Campfire, Clouds, Cookies, and RED. That “RED” in the title caught you by surprise, right? Yeah; I thought so.
Welcome back to my life: a life of very select showers, screwy sleeping schedules, and other stuff like that. This past weekend was Memorial Day weekend, meaning Gaspee Arts and Crafts. Basically, Rhode Island celebrates Gaspee Days over several weekends, commemorating the Rhode Island ship Hannah successfully taking prisoner the British occupants on the HMS Gaspee and then burning the ship. For details of this 1772 moment in Rhode Island history, read here. Every year for the past 46 years, we have a ton of events in the name of Gaspee (5k race, burning re-enactment, etc.), but the big ones are the Arts and Crafts Festival and the parade. Anywho, the festival was last weekend, so I spent some time with a bunch of friends and slept in a tent and had a lovely time of it. My friend hosts this every year, making it a wonderful tradition.
Before that was my cousins’ annual barbeque. I took this nifty picture of a tiny section of the massive bonfire they always make.
